Group piano class in Zoom

Introducing my group piano class online: Group Piano Class in Zoom. The first series of seven weekly one-hour class started in June 2021. The second (continuation of the first) started in October 2021 at alternating weeks, until end of December (seven sessions). The third series of 16 consecutive weeks started at the beginning of 2022. The fourth series will start in mid-May 2022 for 8 consecutive weeks. These sessions are highly interactive and custom tailored to the participants, who are encouraged to submit video recordings for feedback.

If you already play the piano, you may want to continue playing the piano without having to take private lessons. You may want to meet others and collaborate on a project such as a duet. Ultimately, I like to give you a taste of what it’s like to play with other pianists.

Here are my goals for this class:

  1. return to playing the piano through regular practice
  2. build technique (virtual online classes are excellent for this)
  3. play duets or with accompaniment (virtual online classes also great for this)
  4. explore different genres, styles, eras (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, etc.)
  5. learn to sight read (I wrote my piano teaching diploma on this topic – see extract).
  6. simplify a piece so you can learn it more quickly and enjoy the process

As one of the earliest bloggers (since 1999), I enjoy meeting people who embrace "out-of-the-box" thinking and fear not the unknown. I believe in collaboration for sustainability because it increases stakeholder value.
